Gibt es Neuigkeiten in Printmedien, kann ich mit Sicherheit davon ausgehen, dass diese schon lange im Internet verbreitet wurden. Immer schneller werdende Datenverbindungen machen dies sogar in Bild- und Videodateien möglich, so dass die Informationsbeschaffung keineswegs einseitig sein muss. Das Internet bietet auch die Funktion, Daten zu veröffentlichen, die von den Medien gar nicht verbreitet werden sollten. Ein jüngstes Beispiel sind die demonstrativen Oppositionsvideos aus dem Iran bei YouTube. Ein Massaker wie der auf dem 'Platz des himmlischen Friedens' in China von 1989 ist demzufolge schwerer durchführbar, da die neue Technik ein neues Instrument der Medienfreiheit darstellt und eine ungefilterte Berichterstattung möglich gemacht wird.Die Macht des Internets wuchs besonders durch den Wandel des herkömmlichen Internets zum so genannten Web 2.0. Im Web 2.0 gestalten die Benutzer den Inhalt. Man spricht von einem 'User-Generated-Content'. Konnten Internetbenutzer bisher nur auf den Inhalt des Internets zurückgreifen, gestalten sie heute diesen zum Grossteil mit. Ein weiterer Trend nennt sich ' mobiles Web', indem beispielsweise mit dem Handy ein Video der iranischen Oppositionsdemonstration gefilmt und gleich bei YouTube hochgeladen werden konnte. Ist dieser Inhalt für die Benutzer interessant, verbreitet er sich auch dementsprechend schnell. Diese Medienfreiheit bürgt aber auch Gefahren. Wenn Medien keiner Kontrolle unterliegen, gibt es keine Garantie für die Richtigkeit des veröffentlichten Inhalts, beziehungsweise kann von der Gesellschaft das am weitesten Verbreitete für richtig empfunden werden, weil es dem Denken der Masse entspricht. Ein kritischer Umgang ist hier unausweichlich und sollte ebenfalls in der Schule vermittelt werden. Im Folgenden möchte ich mich mit dieser neuen Version des Internets, dem Web 2.0 auseinandersetzen. Welche Techniken stellt es zur Verfügung und wie können diese in ausgewählten Beispielen dem LER-Unterricht dienlich sein. Es gibt Lehrerratgeber für den Internetumgang in der Schule, doch beziehen sich diese fast durchgängig auf Seiten mit festem, bereits bestehendem Inhalt. Dem Web 2.0 werden diese also nicht gerecht. Mich interessiert eher der Ansatz, dass die Benutzer den Inhalt gestalten und dies soll der Fokus dieser Arbeit sein.
